Global Youth Day

19th of March 2022 commenced Global Youth Day led by our very own Wellingborough SDA Youth. The day was packed with activities curated to present the talent in our church and the future that is the youth. It began with Sabbath school where we were presented with the work of Revelation – The first angel and Creation. Filled with many complex ideas it stimulated conversation within the church and interested not only the youth but the adults. Towards the build-up for the sermon a beautiful performance was shared by Tabitha. She was only one of many examples of the gifts that God has blessed the youth with. Finally, the sermon approached. Beth and TJ presented a gripping and interesting sermon to all young and old that the truth is really all in one book. The bible.
The sermon brought a close to youth day but also opened our Youth week of prayer where we all came together to discuss the word of Revelation as it was, presented by the youth. The text had many shocking titles such as the real superhero and the true Star Wars that were interesting at first glance and even more when we began to study the word. The week was not only a time to get together but to study together and learn more about the word of God as a Church.
The youth day was focused on one thing. Community. As people congregated at Sister Yetunde’s home working in her garden, they served as community. Laughter and stories filled the air as they worked to restore what was once a place that she cherished and now after hours of hard work somewhere where she can begin to share her love for gardening again and gaze at the wonders that God has done. This work was all organised by the youth leader of Wellingborough Sister Beth and many thanks go out to her for her continuous involvement.
